Ram K Rijal, a graduate of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is the Chairman and Founder of Bloom Nepal School. A former world bank employee who has worked in education-related projects for various countries in South Asia, Ram is very much passionate about revamping education in Nepal.
Schwarzman Scholar, Tsinghua University
Surya Karki is the Principal of Bloom Nepal School. He holds a masters degree in development studies. A Schwarzman Scholar having graduated from Tsinghua University, Surya is also the country director for the United World Schools for Nepal.
Brindavan College, Banglore
Ajay Shrestha is the Vice-Principal of Bloom Nepal School. He graduated in Computer Science from Brindavan College in Banglore in 2012 and has been engaged as the founder of the school. Ajay also teaches Computer Science to the students and is a tech-savvy person.
New York University Abu Dhabi
Chandan Mishra holds a BS in Civil Engineering from New York University and has worked as a consultant engineer at MWH, Stantec. At Bloom, he oversees teacher recruitment and looks after various Bloom Nepal School projects to expand the outreach of the school.
London School of Economics
Chandra Bhandari holds a Bachelors degree in Economics and Social Policy from the London School of Economics. A researcher at Daayitwa Foundation, Chandra teaches economics to the students and also oversees the residential education at Bloom.
Nepal Sanskrit University
Yasoda Pokharel holds a masters degree from Nepal Sanskrit University. As such she teaches Nepali to the students. She is an avid linguist and likes reading books in her free time. She is also the Examination coordinator of the school and ensures regular and effective assessment of the academic performance of the students.
Ganesh Sharma, originally from Solukhumbu, teaches science in the school. A gifted learner, Ganesh has completed B. Sc. in Biology from Tribhuwan University. Ganesh has more than 10 years of experience of being a science teacher to high school students.
Junior students instructor
Urmila Karki specializes in Montessori based teaching approaches. She holds the teacher’s license certificate for basic level from teacher’s service commission in 2063 B.S. She has completed psychological counseling and early childhood development training from the National Institute of Psychology
Ajit Pokhrel looks after the school’s administrative task and is the in-charge for residential and dining operations of the school. He is a very hard-working person with a wide range of experience in facilities management and event planning. Ajit also helps the students with physical education in the free times.
